We Most Certainly Have Our Work Cut Out For Us

33 Dimensions Newsletter, Labor Day edition
September 2, 2013

SisyphusHappy Labor Day everyone.

In the literal spirit of today’s holiday, I am writing this brief newsletter to reaffirm my comittment to work harder than anyone for the success of my customers and my company. In all honesty, this has been a rather sluggish summer for business expansion, as some of the expected (or hoped for) opportunities did not quite break our way. Growing and expanding a small business has been tough due to the continued uncertainty in the economy and lukewarm consumer confidence.

However, as a firm believer in the promise of the future, I resolve to double my efforts and press forward in the face of these challenges. Right now, we choose to focus upon the optimistic fact that this is an incredible time for web technology with a fantastic array of new tools and technologies to forge the future of our business. So for the next four months, through the end of this year, we will work our tails off building this business and providing the best and most up-to-date technology for our current and new customers. Consider this a “New Year’s resolution” four months in advance, as we expect to be moving at full speed when 2014 arrives.

Stay tuned, folks!

Moving Day

33 Dimensions Newsletter
June 9, 2013

Moving BoxesJune 9th

This date has become known around my house as “Moving Day” due to the amazing coincidences of big events on this date through the years. Starting in 1996, when my wife Karyn and I moved into our first home on June 9th of that year. Two years to the day, on June 9, 1998, we bought our first home together in Drums, Pa, where we stayed for six years. On June 9, 2004 we signed a lease on a townhouse in Silver Spring Township as we migrated to the Harrisburg area due to my employment at the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania which began a year earlier on (you guessed it) June 9, 2003. Seven years ago today, on June 9, 2006, we closed on the sale of our current home in the Middletown area (where we plan on staying for a while). Finally, it was on June 9, 2011 when 33 Dimensions began to officially operate as an LLC.

So what’s in store for today? Well, while we’re not physically “moving” anywhere, we are vastly traversing new frontiers as an expanding small business, especially with respect to the new services we now offer our clients.

News from 33 Dimensions

It is estimated that about 4-6 weeks ago (sometime in late April or Early May), the threshold was crossed where more people access the internet via a mobile device than those who access using traditional desktops or laptops. Further, it is highly unlikely that this trend will ever reverse. With this in mind, 33 Dimensions is now developing websites using Responsive Design, which adapts and optimizes the site for any screen size, whether desktop, tablet, or mobile. We have also recently re-designed our own website using responsive design.

Some other new services which we are now offering include Video Editing and productions of montage style promotional videos, Graphic Design, and a full range of Social Media services.

A Nexus of Anniversaries

33 Dimensions Newsletter
July 13, 2012

NexusToday I celebrate a couple of anniversaries that are from different parts of my life, yet are strangely related. First, it was on this day 20 years ago that I quit smoking once and forever. It is an accomplishment that I am still very proud of, as I explain in greater detail in today’s blog at my personal website.

It is also a wedding anniversary of sorts for my wife Karyn and I. Now those of you who know us best may be confused right now, as you know our actually anniversary is in December. But we were married on a Friday the 13th (in December 1996) and have celebrated every Friday the 13th since as a quasi-anniversary and a nod to our bold decision to defy all convention and superstition (not only was it Friday the 13th, but we got married in Las Vegas). The irony here is that this second anniversary would not exist without the first, as Karyn (who I affectionately call an anti-smoking Nazi) has made it clear that it is highly unlikely we would have gotten together in the first place had I still been a smoker.

The bottom line is, in either of these case there was no guarantee of success. Still, I haven’t smoked in 20 years and will live out my days as a non-smoker, while Karyn and I have now spent 187 glorious months together and our bond is stronger than ever.

I guess there’s something to be said for making good choices.
